# Installing Dynare 4.7-beta3
All participants to the Summer School should install a specific version of
Dynare, numbered 4.7-beta3, as indicated below (depending on your operating
system).
Don’t hesitate to ask for help on the chat if you encounter problems.
## For Windows
We recommend that you install Dynare 4.7-beta3 via this

.
However, if you do not have the permission to execute installers on your
machine, you can alternatively use a

ZIP

archive.
If you don’t have MATLAB, you will need to also install Octave 6.2.0, ideally via

## For macOS
If you have MATLAB, you can install Dynare 4.7-beta1 via this

If you don’t have MATLAB, you will need to install Homebrew (including Octave),
and compile Dynare from source, following these

. Note that for the
section “Preparing the Dynare sources”, you should use this

instead of

## For GNU/Linux
You need to compile Dynare from source, following these

Note that if you don’t have MATLAB, you will need to install Octave 6.2.0 (if
the version of Octave shipped by your distribution is too old, you will have to
compile it from source).
