Octave cannot read xls files, download xlsx files instead.

Necessary if dseries class is not used with Dynare.

Octave does not add the *.mat extension by default.

Fixed unit tests introduced in bad3c90a (no inplace modifications in this branch).

When NaNs are present in the dataset. Do not return an array filled with
NaNs if only the first observations are NaNs.
